Scroll Siege Terms of Use

1. Who can use Scroll Siege

• You must be 18 or older. You confirm this when you sign up.
• You must be able to make a binding contract, and not be barred from using the app under the laws that apply to you.
• One account per person. Don't create an account for someone else.

2. What Scroll Siege is

Scroll Siege is an Android app that helps you spend less time in apps you choose, with a co-op game on top:

• You pick apps to block and a daily goal. When you open a blocked app during your blocking hours, a pause screen appears.
• You can form a party of 2 to 5 friends. Each week your party fights a boss, and staying under your goal deals damage.
• Our server scores each day from the daily totals your phone sends. Scores, XP, damage, levels and Pro status are decided by our server.

Calls, texts, maps, emergency and safety apps, and Scroll Siege itself are never blocked. You can pause blocking from the app's notification or in the app; some features, like strict mode, add extra steps first.

We may change, add or remove features, and we may update game rules and numbers (for example, boss health) to keep the game balanced. We'll give notice in the app of changes that matter to you.

3. Your account

• You sign in with a code sent to your email (or with Google, if we offer it). Keep access to your email secure; you're responsible for activity on your account.
• One phone at a time is your "scoring phone". Signing in on a new phone can move scoring there; the app asks first.
• Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
• You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings > Delete account), at scrollsiege.app/delete, or by writing to us. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data.

4. Pro subscriptions and free trials

• Sold through Google Play. Pro is a subscription bought with Google Play billing, and Google Play's terms also apply to your purchase. We never see your payment details.
• Plans and prices. Pro has a yearly plan and a monthly plan. Prices are set per country and shown in Google Play and in the app before you buy.
• Free trial. The yearly plan may include a 7-day free trial for new customers only. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it becomes a paid yearly subscription and Google Play charges the yearly price shown when you started the trial, on the date shown then. The app reminds you 2 days before the trial ends.
• Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the current price, until you cancel. If a price changes, Google Play tells you as its rules require.
• How to cancel. Cancel any time in Google Play > Subscriptions, or from Settings > Subscription > Manage plan in the app (it opens Google Play). Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Uninstalling the app or deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policies, and you keep any refund rights the law where you live gives you. If a refund is granted, Pro ends right away.
• Payment problems. If a payment fails, Google Play may give a grace period and then put the subscription on hold. Pro stays on during the grace period and pauses during the hold; nothing is deleted, and Pro comes back when the payment works.
• When Pro ends. From the next local midnight after Pro ends, the first 3 apps you chose stay blocked, the others are unblocked, strict mode turns off, and history older than 7 days is hidden (it's kept, not deleted). Your party, hero and progress stay.

5. Founders program

We may offer a founders program that gives Pro, free, to a limited number of early users in chosen countries, for a set time or with no end date. Eligibility depends only on your Google Play billing country, and places are limited. We decide which countries take part, how many places there are and how long grants last, and we may change or end the program for new users at any time. A founder grant is a free benefit, not a purchase, and has no cash value. A grant with no end date lasts while Scroll Siege runs and your account follows these terms; we may end it if the account breaks section 6.

6. Fair play and acceptable use

You agree not to:

• pick a hero name or party name that is offensive, hateful, sexual, threatening, impersonates someone, or breaks the law;
• harass or pressure other players, including through unlock requests;
• cheat: change, fake or replay reports, change your phone's clock to get around scoring, use a modified or unofficial copy of the app, or exploit bugs to gain XP, damage or Pro;
• create several accounts to get more trials, founder places or rewards;
• guess or misuse invite codes, or try to get into parties you weren't invited to;
• reverse engineer, copy, resell or interfere with the app or our servers, except where the law allows it;
• let anyone under 18 use your account, or use the app to monitor another person without their knowledge.

You can report a rude name from a party member's card. We review reports, and we may rename, remove or hide names, cancel scores or rewards gained by cheating, and suspend accounts that break these rules.

7. Wellness, not medical advice

• Scroll Siege is a tool and a game for less scrolling and more offline time. It is not medical advice, and it isn't a medical, psychological or therapy service. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition.
• We don't promise any particular result. How much your screen time changes depends on you.
• Blocking depends on Android. It may not work, or may stop, if you turn off usage access or "display over other apps", use battery savers, use a phone brand that closes background apps, pause blocking, change your phone's settings or clock, use another profile, use websites in a browser you didn't block, or if Android or another app hides our pause screen. The app tries to tell you when blocking stops, but it can't always.
• Don't rely on Scroll Siege in any situation where your safety depends on your phone. Emergency calls and the apps listed in section 2 are never blocked.

8. Game items and progress

XP, levels, damage, loot, trophies, streaks, badges, hero looks, emergency passes and other game items are part of the game. They have no cash value, and they can't be sold, traded, transferred or exchanged for money. We give you a limited right to use them in the app. We may change or rebalance them, and they end when your account is deleted or the app shuts down.

9. Your content

You keep the rights to names and other content you add. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, show and use that content to run Scroll Siege (for example, to show your hero name to your party). This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies kept in backups for a short time and boss records with no name.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without paying you.

10. Our app and our rights

Scroll Siege, its art, characters, code and brand belong to Legacy Rock LLC or its licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on Android phones you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms and Google Play's terms.

11. Other services

Scroll Siege relies on Google Play, Android and other services we don't control. Their terms apply to your use of them, and we aren't responsible for them. Sharing an invite or a share card through another app is between you and that app.

12. Ending or suspending accounts

• You can stop using Scroll Siege and delete your account at any time.
• We may suspend or close your account, or remove content, if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect other players or the service. Where reasonable, we'll tell you why, and you can write to us if you think we got it wrong.
• We may stop offering Scroll Siege. If we do, we'll give at least 30 days' notice in the app, stop selling and renewing subscriptions, and refund unused paid time where the law requires it. Pro and founder grants end when the service ends.
• Sections 7 to 11 and 13 to 17 still apply after your account ends.

13. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, Scroll Siege is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always able to block apps or count minutes. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.

14. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Legacy Rock LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of Scroll Siege. Our total liability for any claim about Scroll Siege is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, or takes away rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived under the law where you live.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the US state in which Legacy Rock LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live outside the United States, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts where that law allows it.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Scroll Siege after the changes take effect, you accept them. If you don't agree, delete your account and cancel any subscription in Google Play.

17. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Scroll Siege. If a part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer these terms to someone else; we may transfer them to a company that takes over Scroll Siege, which must honor them.
